A commenter on this site said that we are watching life through a looking glass.
This chance comment made one of our other contributors refer back to a quote from Lewis Carroll's book " Through the Looking Glass " and a quote from the Cheshire Cat.
He was talking with Alice, newly arrived in the land where insanity and nonsense prevailed. He said “we’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad.” “How do you know I’m mad?” said Alice. “You must be,” said the Cat, or you wouldn’t have come here.”
And that is the problem with the world today. The minute we go through the looking glass and enter the world of the "woke " we are admitting our own inadequacy and the slow drift to joining them. As Salmon Rushie said, " Alice in Wonderland was because Alice fell down a rabbit hole by accident. In Through the Looking Glass, she went there of her own free will. "
In this new realm, it seems that, just like a reflection in a mirror, everything is reversed, including logic.
It is strange that a children's fairy story from 150 years ago can suddenly seem to be an essay on modern life. In fact, it is not strange. It is curiouser and curiouser.
The moment that we enter that realm of insanity, we are like Alice: surrounded by fools and trying to justify OUR sanity by asking questions that will be answered by fools. Where logic becomes illogical and the only way to win the game is by changing all the rules.
We allow the fools to run our countries and we applaud their nonsense. In fact, we want our children to go through the looking glass and join us on this journey to insanity.
Let's elect the king of jabberwocky as president of the free world.
In fact, " It takes all the running you can do just to keep in the same place. " said Lewis Carroll.
We are now expected to believe that a geriatric dementia sufferer is the smartest person on the entire planet and that he should be in charge of the nuclear codes.
And he really is fluent in Jabberwocky, isn't he?
I have often written about the madness that is engulfing the modern world. It is truly like living in Jabberwocky land - the way our language is being overtaken by nonsense words and hailed by insane idiots as " newspeak."

Seriously, people, this is beyond a joke. Or has our western world become a joke?
Yes, I believe it has.
