Can you help keep Patriotrealm on line?

Common wisdom sometimes is so readily accepted that even if it has taken a serious turn for the worse it is still received and repeated as gospel truth. Perhaps the most common example is the saying – “God helps those that help themselves”.

No, God helps the helpless, the hapless and the worst of the worst.

In fact, the words “God is in control” cannot be found anywhere in the Bible.

There are several powerful verses of writ that describe how God uses the good or the evil to accomplish his sovereign will in the earth. The most familiar verse is found in Paul’s letter to the Romans.

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” (Ro 8:28)

The verse is directed mainly toward Christians, but the principle is apparent.

But the idea of God using both good and evil events to bring about his will, does not free us to do evil or submit to evil doers to help God along.

Roman 13:1 tells us to “Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.” – but the idea of submitting to evil is neither implied nor mandated in this important passage.

We are commanded to resist all antichrist government and rulings even up to the loss of our own lives. This includes not being disinterested, fearful or, disengaged and aloof to all political or civic involvement with governance on all levels including local, statewide, or national.

What are Christians Supposed to Give to Caesar?

When asked if he and his disciples paid taxes to Rome just like every other citizen Jesus floored his detractors with this answer.

“And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s. And they marvelled at him.” (Mr 12:17)

In 50 years of experience dealing with Christian people I have found only a few who are actively involved in politics, and many Christians could not so much as name a single candidate in a political race.

They often ignore or actively disdain politics under the umbrella of the famous “God is in control”.

Adding to Christian disengagement, is the fact of the last days apostasy sweeping across the globe. It is bringing down the historic and emerging contemporary churches, to the level of pure betrayal of the gospel and the revealed word of the Living God.

It suffices to say that when the world’s last and worst dictator comes to power that the same Christians will have had a part in seating the Antichrist.

Some argue that Christianity and politics are intermeshed to the point that we cannot tell them apart. Look around, that is not happening now, or at any time in our past.

This writer is not arguing that it should ever happen, but Christian’s lack of civic mindedness is bordering on disobedience to the gospel and opening a path for evil to enter and reign.

Others would argue that voting is not a mandate of Caesar, but rather it is a privilege. That amplifies our responsibility, because that privilege can be exactly what keeps evil and evil rulers from gaining power.

People like Barack Obama and Joe Biden would have never gotten near the White House had Christians been obedient or even listening.

What about Donald Trump – should Christians be so willing to support him?

We can provide a long list of reasons why Trump deserves our support, but here is a short list of  items and one final item, that must not be ignored even if you disagree with all the others.

He kept his word

He cut taxes

Kept us out of war

Created respect around the world

Made us energy independent

And the kicker is – he was cheated out of his last election by the democrats.

Results from the 2020 election are still coming in, anyone who sees no fraud or cheating simply is in denial.

A second chance is owed to Mr. Trump and all civil minded people in this nation know that.

When most people are cheated out of something they seek a path of recourse and or recovery. They use lawsuits, legal intervention, and whatever means they have at their disposal.

We won’t dwell on this one too long, but here are the facts – we, the entire nation, owe Trump this one.

Renewal or Destruction – Which Line is America Approaching?

America seems to be in a freefall state, anything goes only lasts until everything is gone. We have a new definition for freedom emerging in America. It is best seen in the Kris Kristofferson song lyrics taken from the famous tune known as Me and Bobby McGee. God forbid, that we sink to this level.

“Freedom is just another word for nothin’ left to lose” – Kris Kristofferson

Like ancient Israel we may be approaching the point of no return and judgment is all that is left. That judgment would include evil leaders who oppress people and misuse their power.

But we also may be approaching a place of renewal, revival, reconstruction, and restoration. The choice is ours.

For Christians the chance to act is even more important today than it has ever been

We must not hide behind the non-scriptural overused cliche that “God is in control anyway”

As we wait to see what God is about to do with our nation, we can go a step further than the much touted “God is in control” cliché.

We can trust in this.

“…the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.” (Daniel 4:32b)
